THE CRY OF BALINTOCATOK. There’s of course the historical Cry of Balintawak where brave nationalists led by Andres Bonifacio tore their cedulas to declare the start of the revolution against Spain. This is the Cry of Balitocatok, named after a village in Santiago, Isabela where they grow a revolutionary kind of Watermelon. It’s the Diana, a beautiful contradiction of smooth golden yellow skin and crunchy, red inside flesh of such exceeding sweetness that you would cry.
