GROWTH IS AN UNDENIABLE FORCE. Despite our best efforts that resulted in the purchase of three tons of Lemons so far, the Lemons of Tuba, Benguet have grown. In the scheme of things, we saved a few selected farmers from ruin but left others out in the cold. Literally. It’s the cold weather here that makes the Lemons grow faster. They inevitably, undeniably reach a point that they grow to sizes too big for the traditional buyers to want when they do come. Whose fault is it when tons of Lemons are now in danger of being left to rot on the trees or dumped unsold? Is it the buyer’s, for not coming often, for wanting only “good size” lemons, for not paying enough? Is it the farmers’ fault for planting these lemons? Is it us, for saying there is a problem because in years past, there was nothing at all on social and mainstream media about Lemon “overproduction”?
