We are able to get a unique and rare kind of banana called LAGKITAN. It’s from the town of Ibajay in the island of Panay. Lagkitan tastes like a cross between a Saba and a Latundan banana. It’s flesh is firm like a Saba’s and its peel is thin like a Latundan’s. How is the taste? They say you get a bubblegum-y undertone. It tastes terrific fried or boiled. You may find a seed in the center which is good. You have a chance to propagate this rare banana in your backyard.
SO YOU SEE: These are the Lagkitan bananas, and this is our farmer. He shared with us how he had a difficult time bringing these bananas from the mountains, and we believe him after seeing the injury/swelling on his hand.
