CUCUMBEANS. Stopping to eat at a roadside eatery in Buguias, Benguet we noticed that the pancit we ordered did not come with calamansi on the side. Instead, a whole sliced lemon was the centerpiece. Right then we knew that there was an overproduction happening. RuRi ended up saving 40 tons of Lemons in the province of Benguet a few weeks after that fateful merienda. Right now alarm bells are ringing for BEANS and CUCUMBERS. We know that there is an overproduction happening right now. Bags of perfectly good produce are being abandoned at the Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal (NVAT), hindi nabebenta. We’ll investigate further in the farms, and we’ll come back with a report.
