TOMATO JERKIES

TOMATO JERKIES. Available again this surprising hit from the tomato farmers of Aritao. Our members loved the first batch not only for the taste (like Haw Flakes!) but also the idea that at last some farmers are doing something to NOT dump their unsold tomatoes by the roadside. Read the back story: THEY CHEWS TO HELP THEMSELVES. Every time we post a picture a picture of a mound of unsold tomatoes rotting by the roadside, there will always be a comment along the Iines of “Why can’t someone teach the farmers to preserve them?”. Every single time. There was one harsh version, we hid it , not erased, in the comments section: “Gosh, why don’t the farmers help themselves, puro na lang ba rescue?”. Yes, may kasamang Gosh. Well, we are happy to tell you that someone did—and for Mr. Angry but Concerned Guy, a group of farmers now do. Presenting with much pride and happiness, from the tomato farmers of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, TOMATO CHEWIES. Here they are in my hand, I’ve already gobbled up half before I remembered to take a video. They do look like beef jerkies, don’t they?

We are looking for a few Rural Rising members to try 3 tubs of our second batch of TOMATO CHEWS, pay only P360. We hope you like them as much as we do, we’ll order more and give them the encouragement to continue helping themselves.
