There’s a super typhoon coming today and it’s passing through the north of our country, international name HINNAMOR. Wether it hits landfall or not is relevant because it’s hitting our farmers now. We are receiving so many calls for help from farmers who are harvesting their crops now in anticipation of bad weather. We already know what that means. There will be an instant oversupply of vegetables all over, prices will plummet briefly, and then when the inventible shortage hits, prices will go through the roof. Mga nagtatanim ng saging, cabbage, carrots, prutas, mais, zucchini, pakwan, tumatawag na sila. Wala kaming maisagot, yung Box-All-You-Can sa Cloverleaf, sa September 3 pa. Kawawa ang farmers natin, and soon magiging kawawa ang consumers natin.
Our group has to do something proactive. We have to exercise our only power, which is to buy as much as we can at a fair price to the farmers, never taking advantage of their fears and difficulties. And when we have the produce, to let our members have them through deals they will never get elsewhere. LET’S DO THAT NOW.
SUPER TYPHOON HINNAMOR CRATE HOPE. We are seeking your urgent support for our highland and lowland farmers in the north, to buy a Crate Hope with 10 kilos of vegetables inside. Every Crate Hope comes with another 10 kilos of basic vegetables which shall be donated in your name to the poor, hungry and sicks residents of Brgy. Tatalon, Quezon City. Pay only P1,299.
This breaks down to P65 per kilo, more than fair for help, more than enough help for now.
