BANAHAW HONEY

BANAHAW HONEY. We are quite pleased to get this—Authentic Honey gathered by residents living around the Mt. Banahaw-San Cristobal National Park. When we asked for a proof of authenticity, they gave us three. Two videos of how they are gathering and processing the honey, and the promise that every bottle shall have a piece of the honeycomb in it. We saw that they light a fire under the honeybee tree. When we asked why it was necessary to do that, they said the smoke “relaxes the bees”. It seems to work because they are able to gather what they need to make a simple living. We are sharing the videos and and pictures here. The honey gatherer is Aling Nene Ilagan, 42. She lives in Brgy. Sta. Catalina, Candelaria, Quezon which is a short distance from Mt. Banahaw. She has a hundred or so bottles of this divine elixir and we agreed to take it all.
