LAGKITAN BANANAS

BUBBLE GUM BANANAS. We are managing to get with delightful consistence a rare and delicious kind of banana called LAGKITAN. That means “sticky” right, so that’s already intriguing. We get it from the gatherers of Ibajay, Aklan. That means they do not own the banana trees, neither does anyone, the trees grow wild in the forest. It can be dangerous work. One time, one of our gatherers was stung by an insect and it blew up his hand like a balloon. Lagkitan tastes like a cross between a Saba and a Latundan banana, if you can imagine that. The taste has a bubblegum-y undertone. It banana-cues and nilagang-sagings very well.
